PRASSA: Suture Kit Rental Application Information
Introduction
Hi all,
If you’re reading this then it’s quite likely that you’re interested in renting out some surgical Kits for your society! If so, you’re in the right place; as a member of PRASSA you have exclusive access to the PRASSA UK surgical Kit rental scheme: kindly supported by PLASTA UK, with Kits donated by the BSSH. We possess 27 needle holders, 21 toothed forceps, 16 non-toothed forceps and 25 pairs of scissors.
Please see below for a summary of how the scheme works:
Who can apply?

Suture Kit rentals by PRASSA are only available for plastic surgery/surgical societies or organisations at UK medical schools.
How it works:
Fill in the following Google form application and message the PRASSA UK University Lead to let them know that you’ve completed your application:
https://forms.gle/7fs3h3eZT7i3pZ6XA
Wait for PRASSA UK to e-mail your society. We will let you know whether or not your application has been approved.
If your application gets approved, then simply pay the deposit and wait for your Kit to arrive!
The deposit:

The deposit is only £60, half of which is refundable! Here is a full breakdown:
- £25 is non-refundable and covers the cost of postage & postage.
- £35 is refundable and shall be returned to the renting society once the Kit is returned to PRASSA UK, providing it has been returned in its original condition.
Returning the Kit:
All Kits must be returned via tracked and signed-for postage.
Kits must be returned to: [ADDRESS TO BE CONFIRMED]
House rules:
Please familiarise yourself with the T&Cs. Key aspects of these to note are:
Cleaning:
Kit, in all instances, should be cleaned before return. This is especially true in instances where the Kit has been used on any form of animal tissue.
Damage to Kits:
Accidents happen and that’s okay! However, to keep the PRASSA UK Kit rental scheme going, we must be able to make up for those accidents. This may be via non-receipt of your refundable deposit. If the damage is more substantial, then we will ask for the equipment to be replaced or money to allow for this.
Loss of Kits:
A flat fee of £25 shall be incurred for each Kit lost.

Terms and Conditions for the PRASSA UK Surgical-Kit Rental Scheme:
1. Introduction
These terms and conditions (the "Terms") govern the rental of surgical Kits (the "Kits") from PRASSA UK to the renting member society (the "Society").
By renting a Kit from PRASSA UK, the Society agrees to be bound by these Terms.
2. Kit Rental
The Society may rent a Kit for a specified period of time (the "Rental Period") as agreed upon by PRASSA UK and the Society at the time of rental.
The Society is responsible for the safe and proper use of the Kit during the Rental Period. PRASSA UK shall not take any responsibility over how the Kit is used or responsibility for any harm/damage that is caused when using the Kit.
The Society must return the Kit to PRASSA UK in the same condition as when received, normal wear and tear excepted.
Kit, in all instances, should be cleaned prior to return. This is especially the case in instances where the Kit has been used on any form of animal tissue. Kit that is returned not cleaned, after having been used on animal tissue, may result in the renting Society no longer being able to participate in the PRASSA UK Kit rental Scheme and may incur additional charges unto the renting Society.
3. Payment
The Society shall pay PRASSA UK the deposit and rental fee for the Kit as agreed upon at the time of rental.
The Society shall also pay any additional charges incurred during the Rental Period, including but not limited to, charges for late return, damages to or cleaning of the Kit.
A flat fee of £25 shall be incurred for each Kit lost.
4. Damages and Loss
The Society shall be liable for any damages to or loss of the Kit during the Rental Period, including but not limited to, damages caused by misuse or neglect.
The Society shall be liable for the replacement cost of the Kit if it is lost or not returned at the end of the Rental Period.
5. Termination
PRASSA UK reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement and retrieve the Kit at any time if the Society breaches any of these Terms.
Upon termination, the Society shall be liable for any outstanding charges and damages to the Kit.
6. Changes to Terms
PRASSA UK reserves the right to make changes to these Terms from time to time.
The Society’s continued use of the Kit following any changes indicates the Society’s acceptance of the new Terms.
