OUR RESEARCH PROJECTS
We are excited to lead three key academic projects PRASSA will be undertaking. We are passionate to learn more about how to increase diversity and equality within Platics and will be conducting a national survery to facilitate this aim. Furthermore, we are passionate about plastics education and will be exploring how successfully the undergraduate medical curriculum teaches plastic surgery using our LANTERN study as well as understanding the representation of women in plastic surgey.

A. Women in Plastic Surgery
Women in plastic surgery initiative aim to understand how we can increase the accessibility of plastic surgery training to aspiring medical students who identify as female. The initiative feature a questionnaire being distributed across the national demographic. It will be followed by semi structured interviews of participants. we are really excited to use the findings to make suggestions and recommendations.

B. Disability in surgery are equality and diversity topic
This initiative is to look at disability surgery. This initiative will also feature a questionnaire being distributed and will be encouraging. Disabled medical students across the United Kingdom to answer and understand how we can improve plastic surgery training and provide adequate resources for disabled medical students to also aspire to pursue your career and surgery.

3) Local Anaesthetic Non-Tourniquet Techniques: Enhancing Resident and National Medical Education (LANTERN)​
